Vegas Recap

Wow, it's been a long time since I last posted! I believe I shared my morning breakfast on Saturday (a bagel and an apple). I went for a walk around the strip, it was absolutely wonderful-I love Las Vegas. I came back and had a Nature Valley Granola Bar before getting dressed and heading to Paris for lunch. We ate at a cute little cafe. I had a Grilled Chicken Parmesan Wrap. It was pretty filling. Afterward the drinking olympics began. I ordered a margarita, then I had a few shots of Smirnoff. Then I had another margarita from Fat Tuesday's in the MGM, and oh man, the drinking went on from there.....needless to say I was pretty drunk by the end of the night. But who goes to Vegas for their first time without getting wasted at least once, right? We ate dinner in New York New York. I munched on some bread, and some kind of pasta with tomato sauce, which quite frankly, I can't remember, because I was pretty drunk during that hour. Sunday was a "detox" day. Breakfast was a granola bar and an apple. I went for a run on the strip, and then we ended up eating at Burger King for lunch because we were almost out of money. I ordered the Tendergrill Chicken Sandwich with onion rings. Dinner was at the Mirage, I had a veggie burger with hummus and avocado, quite delish, and some sweet potato fries! We had to stop at the self-serve frozen yogurt for dessert before heading to bed. I had some peanut butter yogurt with oreos and graham cracker crumbs. Today we woke up at the crack of dawn. We hit the road and I munched on a Cinnamon Raisin Bagel for breakfast. I also had another Nature Valley bar for a snack during the drive home. We hit the dining hall for lunch. I had a banana with some peanut butter, a salad with kidney beans, a sprinkle of cheese, spinach, and mushrooms, and a grilled cheese. I went for a run and afterwards I had a protein banana shake. Dinner will probably be in TP tonight-and a normal regime will resume tommorow! I had such a great weekend!

Margaritaville

Dinner in Vegas was at Margaritaville. I had chicken quesidilla will bell peppers and a plain margarita. The quesidilla was good, and I had about 2 1/4 of the 4 slices. Not pictured as a pre-dinner snack was a banana and some Doritos!

Waking Up in Vegas.

Whew-drove to Vegas through the night and avoided traffic coming through the Hoover Dam-what a relief! We were starving upon our nine am arrival to Sin City and stopped at Denny's for some breakfast. I had the hearty wheat pancakes, I ate about two of them. In traditional Vegas fashion, we ordered these huge daquiris in souveneir cups upon arriving at our hotel, The MGM Grand! They were strawberry flavored, and delicious! We knocked out after moving in, and I woke up about 2 hours later. I figured I should eat something since i drank such a huge daquiri. I had a plain bagel and a gala apple. I am excited for tonight! More posts to come later!

Vegas Bound!

This is going to be a quick post on account I'm trying to get to Vegas. Packing galore! I had a Strawberry Granola Bar inbetween work and class this morning. For lunch I had a Grilled Chicken Salad from My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. It came with bleu cheese (yuck), grilled chicken, and pecans. I also had some pita bread and hummus (my favorite part). I sipped on a Diet Snapple. After work I went for my run-and then we hit Safeway. It was time to buy supplies for Vegas. We got a handle of Smirnoff, some juice for mixing, granola bars, bagels, good old water, and some fruit. We were starving by the time we got back to Taylor Place so we hit the dining hall. I had some celery with peanut butter, some black beans, pita chips, and grilled veggies. I forgot my phone to snap a photo-sorry! For a little dessert I had a Cold Stone Ice Cream concoction LT brought me yesterday! I want my freaking hunger issues to even out already damnit! I feel good right now, but from lunch until the time I went running I was famished, even though I ate my whole lunch! Oh well, looking forward to a fun weekend!

Breakfast and Not Feeling Any Better

Woke up this morning hoping to feel resfreshed for a new start-nope I still feel as shitty as I did yesterday! I need to get past that. I had an easy bowl of Kashi Cereal and Soy Milk and a calcium chew afterward. By the way, yesterday I gave up chewing gum-entirely. As of March 24th I am gum free!

Depressed?

I'm tired of hearing the comments-are you still running? Ugh, I've most definitely gained weight because I was "too thin" and my metabolism had to recover. I know it was in my best interest to increase calories for a while and so I did, unfortunately it resulted in weight gain.....I wish people could just understand what I've been going through! Anyways, I went for my run and had a Banana Chocolate Protein Shake afterwards with only 1 pump Mocha. I actually preferred the less-chocolaty taste. We had dinner around 6. I had two tacos with rice, cheese, sour cream, and some spinach and mushrooms on the side. I also enjoyed a little tart, and some ice cream for dessert. I want to loose weight again, it just isn't easy! I need to get myself to be mentally accepting of my body though-I know that is the first step. I should not be happy because of my weight, I should be happy because I am treating my body well by exercising it and nourishing it with good, healthy meals. I need to learn that, and be more confident.

Breaking Point

My boss was driving me absolutely INSANE at work today-I don't know how much longer I am going to be able to tolerate it! Regardless, I was starving two hours into the work-day, so I went to the little convenience shop and bought a bag of popcorn. This popcorn brings me back to freshman year of college, they always sold it in the market at our dorm. I met up with the girls and Joel for lunch in the dining hall. Again-no options! I'm sick and tired of this food, I cannot wait to cook for myself! I had a veggie burger with swiss cheese, some pita chips, and some celery with peanut butter. I snagged a peanut butter cookie on the way out. I'm on duty again tonight, which means I will be dining in Taylor Place, yet again. I'm hoping to get in a run after class this afternoon.

Too Early

It felt too early to be getting up at 6:45 this morning for some reason. I had another simple bowl of Kashi GoLean Cereal with Soy Milk. Then it's off to work, and the career fair afterwards!

House Arrest

After breakfast I managed to squeeze in my run, and shower before heading to class at 9am. On the way to class I grabbed a Decaf Nonfat Latte. I got lunch to-go from the dining hall on my way to work. I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on multi-grain bread, and grabbed an apple and some celery. Around 2pm I was hungry again, so I had a few nibbles of a Crunchy Peanut Butter Clif Bar-not very good, I don't reccommend. I came home from work and had dinner with some friends in the dining hall. Dinner was turkey, swiss, spinach, and tomatos in a spinach wrap with a few peices of cantaloupe, some pita chips, and kidney beans. I had a small soft-serve chocolate cone to finish off the meal. Now it's time to get some school work done, and get ready for this staff meeting tonight. Oh, and I'm on duty, hence the title "house arrest" which means if anything goes wrong tonight in the dorms, I have to tend to it! Lucky me!

Cereality

Back to my morning cereal routine-and reality for that matter. I woke up to rain, BOO! I was ecstatic however, at the the thought of using my new cup and bowl I bought last night at Target! For breakfast I simply had a bowl of GoLean Crunch Cereal with Light Soy Milk.

Back to the Grind

Luckily I got on that 12pm flight and made it back just in time for my class at 2pm this afternoon! I grabbed a couple of whole wheat crackers on my way out the door to tie myself over. After class I went for a short run. We had a "family dinner" at 6pm which I forgot to photograph. I had half a plate of plain spaghetti and half a plate of salad which consisted of spinach, kidney beans, a little shredded cheese, and dash of vinegrette. I also had a small roll with dinner. Afterwards I had a brownie for dessert. We went to Target to do some "back to school shopping" if you may. I bought some Calcium Chews and tested one out when I got home. I also had to break into the Reeses Easter Eggs that I bought, I had a few of them! :) I met up with Natasia and Irma at Starbucks to discuss our Vegas plans for the weekend, woo hoo! I had a Venti Unsweented Passion Tea-my addiction!

Back to work tommorow, sigh!

Space Case

Wow, got to the airport in plenty of time, breezed through security, and suddenly realized, I am at the WRONG GATE! I didn't even go through the right security checkpoint. So I've missed my flight and I am on standby for one that leaves in a little less than an hour. I decided to get some lunch since I will probably be pretty hungry by the time I get to Phoenix. I went to the aiport Starbucks and got a Banana Chocolate Vivanno smoothie with 2% milk, and a honey bran muffin. I doubt I will get all the way through the muffin-it's huge and really sweet, but we'll see, I might get hungry later. Wish me luck!

Jetsetting

It is a beautiful morning here in Encinitas, but alas, I am back to the desert! My flight leaves in a couple of hours. I had a lovely little breakfast this morning of 2 poaches eggs on sourdough toast with a few grapes on the side. I love having eggs and toast for breakfast, and I won't get to have it for a while since I am heading back to school-eating the majority of my meals in the dining hall! Once I get back to school I have a busy afternoon. I'd like to get a run in, and I have my management class to attend. That's all for now.

Rest of the day Recap

So I ran out of time to document the rest of the day's eatings.

I had another Perfect Foods Bar for an afternoon snack (I swear there has been NOTHING to eat in this house all week!)

Dinner consisted of some angel hair pasta, a few sweet potato fries, some asparagus, and a couple of strawberries.

We went to Trader Joes after dinner so when we got home, I of course needed to have a frozen banana. ;)

Tommorow I resume my running regimen! I need to get my ass back in shape! Goodnight!

Getting my Beach Fix

As I am heading back to the desert tommorow to finish up my last semester as an ASU student, I wanted to hit the beach for a little bit. I went for a nice, leisurely walk at the beach for about an hour and a half. Before my walk I was a little hungry so I had a Perfect Foods Bar as a snack. These bars are quite possibly the healthiest thing I have ever seen!! Looking at the ingredients, almost everything on there is a fruit or a vegetable! They are quite satisfying as well. On my way home from the beach I stopped at Jimbo's with the intent of picking up a salad, but nothing in the salad bar looked good. Instead I had a Blueberry Blast smoothie, which had bananas, blueberries, and blueberry juice in it, and a raspberry corn muffin. The smoothie wasn't bad, a little too watery for my taste, but I drank it anyways. The muffin was great though, I liked the crunchiness of it, and there were actual little peices of corn inside! I had a few chocolate drops after my lunch. Now I am sitting here on the couch with my doggy. Now I REALLY need to finish this project.

Foggy Sunday Morning

I woke up feeling refreshed this morning! I was hungry upon waking so I went to the kitchen and started toasting a peice of this apple bread that we've had over the past week. Not my favorite, but it's the only bread in the house. I spread some Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter on it, topped it with a sliced banana, and drizzled a little agave nectar on top. I am huge fan of peanut butter, but I learned that there can be all kinds of trans fats and yucky stuff in the non-natural version, so I think I'm going to switch over, even though it's more expensive! The agave nectar is actually pretty good too, it's supposed to be a good natural sweetner. Now I am sitting here trying to finish my group project while sipping on a mug of Darjeeling Green tea. My mom has the best finds, the most recent, these Petit Tea Sticks. They come in all different flavors, but I am more of an herbal/green girl, so I chose the green! This breakfast was satisfying and quite tasty. I will now resort to finishing up school work, and hopefully getting a work out in here pretty soon!

Me

The first picture is me at my heaviest, Senior Prom. The second picture is me at my lowest, summer going into junior year of college.
